Chapter's Continuing Commitment to Penn State Students

The Chester County Chapter is proud of our efforts to help students in financial need from Chester County who are attending Penn State.  We do this in 3 ways:

  1. We have a fully funded Trustee Matching Scholarship issued to a Chester County Student in financial need at any campus.  This TMS was awarded for the first time this year to 2 students who currently attend the Berks Campus.
  2. We have a fully funded Endowment at the Brandywine Campus.  This endowment replaces what use to be an annual award of $1,000 to a Chester County student at Brandywine.  Now it is an Endowed Scholarship in perpetuity for a Chester County student attending the Brandywine Campus.
  3. We give a $500 yearly stipend to the Penn State School of Graduate and Professional Studies for their Emergency Fund.  This enables Penn State Great Valley to help students who find themselves in unexpected hardship.

We fund these Endowments and Awards throughout the year,

    • $5 of everyone's membership dues goes directly to our Scholarship Fund
    • additional tax deductible private donations have been given with a designation of the TMS and/or Brandywine Endowment or to our General Scholarship Fund
    • proceeds from some of our events are designated as benefiting our Scholarship Fund

All scholarship recipients are chosen by Penn State University Office of Student Aid.  If you have a student attending PSU and have filled out the FAFSA forms, your student will automatically be considered for our scholarships.
